Diary
Fat Bob never picked the name, the name picked him, and somewhere between the dojo bell and the neon glow of the red light district he decided to lean into it instead of fighting the tide. The old masters taught him restraint, breathing, the art of the empty mind, but that discipline got rugged the second he wandered into that district chasing a laugh and a little too much touch for a man who should've known better. He caught something nasty that week, the kind of souvenir no scroll ever warned him about, and spent the next month sweating it out while swearing on his ancestors' swords he'd never ape into temptation like that again. Naturally he did, twice, because vows made at 3am with sake still in the blood tend to evaporate by sunrise, and discipline for Fat Bob has always been a floor that keeps dropping out from under him. Still, he calls himself wiser now, chuckling as he says it, the same jovial grin hiding the quiet, dangerous stillness of a man who has been humbled plenty and is somehow still standing.
No accessory. Maximum presence. These fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Hidden in plain sight. The Night Forest fighters do most of their work in the dark — not secretively, but quietly. They don't need an audience.
Shuren (修練) is discipline: the rest of the Mint cards, the ones that never cracked. The purple is Purple Night's.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Bald. Nothing hidden, no armor above the neck. These fighters face everything without cover and consider this the only honest approach.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,468 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Bone, wood and superstition. The Shaman Skull Staff fighters aren't sure the spirits are listening, but the skull makes opponents hesitate, and hesitation is enough.
