They called him Fat Bob before he'd earned it and then he spent a whole life earning it anyway, which he figures is the funniest joke the universe ever pulled on a former blade-for-hire. Down at the Tsukiji fish market he went one gray morning meaning to do a good deed, hauling crates for the old-timers who still bow to the tuna like it's a shogun, and somehow walked out with a crew of degens who'd aped their rent into shrimp coin and wanted to tell him about it over cheap sake. He listened, because discipline says listen to your elders, but nobody warned him the elders would be thirty-year-old gremlins in Crocs asking if he wanted in on
