Diary
They called him Fat Bob before he ever earned it, some cruel drill sergeant's joke back when he was just a lean recruit with big ambitions, and Bob spent thirty years turning that insult into scripture, one dumpling and one lost bet at a time. The courtesans outside the Dojo knew a soft mark when they saw one, all silk sleeves and honeyed laughter, needling him about his belly and his empty coin purse, testing whether the old bushido in him had drowned completely in sake and ramen broth. He stood there sweating, grinning, feeling the familiar tug toward one more drink and one more flirtation that would rug his discipline entirely, and something ancient and stubborn in his gut simply refused to bend. He walked away untouched, unbought, unmoved, which by his own generous accounting counts as the single greatest victory of his career, degen or otherwise. Now he tells the story nightly over cups he absolutely should not be drinking, chest puffed with pride, already losing the next round of the same old battle before the tale even ends.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The organization runs deep. The Yakuza Tattoo Sleeve fighters have commitments that predated the Dojo and will outlast it.
The most accurate names arrive from someone else — and Fat Bob's did, unkindly, long ago. He's spent every fight since proving whoever it was had a point.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The warrior and the wanderer. Worn by those who are between destinations but never between fights.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
