Diary
At Kiyomizu-Dera, beneath the wooden lattice of the old temple, Fatty Bobsticks did what no other ronin would dare and put on his superior's voice like a stolen kimono, chest puffed, chin high, absolutely nothing like Fat Bob, thank you very much, before anyone asks. The pilgrims bought it, the monks half bought it, and somewhere in the theater of it all his charisma stat quietly aped up ten points while he wasn't looking, which he insists was the plan the entire time. Riding that high, he has now declared himself a self defence instructor, a title he has awarded himself with the same confidence he awarded himself the impersonation, discipline be damned, form be damned, floor's about to pump. His first lesson is scheduled for tomorrow, has been scheduled for tomorrow for six tomorrows running, because his own stance still wobbles like a man three cups of sake past sensible. Still, he'll tell you, unprompted and often, that he is not the sequel to anybody, he is the main character, and Fat Bob's shadow can keep quiet or get taught a lesson too.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Comfort and culture combined. The Sushi Love Loose Kimono fighters dress for the life they're building, not the fight they're in.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Time made visible, flowing. Flowing Dreads fighters carry their history in motion — every lock a year, and the years are moving now.
Direct. No ambiguity. The Axe fighters made a decision about what kind of fighter they are and the axe confirms it every time.
