Diary
Fatty Bobsticks was never supposed to be a footnote to anyone, least of all to the ghost of Fat Bob, whose shadow still stretched long across every dojo floor Fatty ever stumbled into. So when the wager went down in Nagoya, a stupid bar bet about who could out-drink who before the midnight bell, Fatty swore this would be the night history remembered him as his own man. History remembered something else entirely, something involving a katsu stand, three bad decisions, and a bathroom he did not make it to in time. The other fighters still bring it up, calling it the Nagoya Incident like it deserves a museum plaque, and Fatty just grins and says a true samurai's discipline is tested in many arenas, some of them tragically located behind convenience stores. He vows tomorrow will be different, that he will train his gut like he trains his blade, and everyone nods politely because they've heard this vow before, right around the time Fat Bob used to say the exact same thing.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Architecture on the scalp. Each knot a decision. The Black Bantu Knots fighters make their choices visible at the top, where everyone can see.
Found. Not forged. The Large Branch fighters don't wait for the right weapon — they use what's available and are surprised when this needs explanation.
