Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell anyone who sits still long enough that he is nothing like Fat Bob, thank you very much, even as he chokes on the exact same fish bone at the exact same pleasure house where his shadow first made a fool of itself decades ago. The old-timers at the bar swear the coughing fit lasted longer this time, a personal best, and Fatty takes that as a compliment because personal bests are what separates a legend from a legacy hanger-on. He knows better now, he insists between wheezes, patting his chest like a man closing a trade he definitely did not ape into blind, and if honor got rugged somewhere between the sake and the second helping of grilled snapper that is simply the cost of doing business as his own man. He vows, as he always vows, to eat slower, chew twice, mind the bones, floor set at zero mistakes, and by the third bowl he is inhaling fish like it owes him money. Somewhere Fat Bob's shadow is laughing without moving its mouth, and Fatty, mid cough, raises a cup to it anyway, because a sequel still has to sell tickets even when the ending is the same joke.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Grew things before they fought things. The Farmer clothing is the clearest record of what a fighter was before the Dojo changed them.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Wild, electrified. The Zapachi fighters' hair moves independently and the fighter has accepted that this is appropriate.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
