Diary
Fatty Bobsticks marched into the Edo palace convinced he'd out-hustle his own legend, chest puffed like he wasn't just Fat Bob's shadow with better PR, hunting gold in the rafters where old shoguns supposedly stashed their ryo. Three hours of prying floorboards and bowing to suspicious guards later, he realized he hadn't found a single coin, only the horrifying discovery that his mojo, that swagger he swore was all his own and not inherited, had wandered off somewhere between the throne room and the moat. He stood there in borrowed armor, arguing out loud with a shadow that wasn't even listening, insisting he was nobody's sequel, just as the palace stablemaster handed him a shovel and pointed at a very large, very steaming pile. Somewhere in that undignified scoop-and-toss rhythm, cleaning up after the shogun's horses like some straight-to-VHS nobody, Fatty felt more like himself than he had chasing treasure, a truth he refuses to admit even now. He tells the other Dojo fighters he's reclaiming his discipline one shovel at a time, but everyone's seen him nap mid-shift on a hay bale, dreaming of gold he'll never find and simplicity he can't stop running from.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Unglamorous and honest. The Black Peasant Sack fighters didn't dress for anyone else. They dressed for function and found that function is its own statement.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Carried more than worn. The Pocket Glasses fighters have perfect vision when they choose to apply it — the rest of the time, they let instinct run.
Ancient discipline, modern retention. The Braided Samurai Ponytail fighters maintain something traditional precisely because the world keeps trying to make them let it go.
The ninja's tool. Small, fast, plural. The Kunai fighters think in multiples — one is never the plan.
