Diary
Fatty Bobsticks will tell you, unprompted and at volume, that he is not Fat Bob's understudy, that the resemblance is coincidence, that any shogun's throne he almost sat on he almost sat on with his own two glorious cheeks. The story goes he was one sake cup away from being named shogun outright, the elders nodding, the scroll practically unrolled, when Ikari showed up at the izakaya running his mouth about legacy and lineage and who really deserves the seat. Fatty Bobsticks, never one to let an insult marinate, flipped the table, took a swing that connected with everything except Ikari, and watched the whole ceremony dissolve into broken pottery and a bar tab nobody wanted to claim. He insists to this day it was a strategic retreat and not a humiliating defeat, insists he is his own man forging his own disgrace, thank you very much, not living in some fatter shadow. But alone afterward, nursing a bruised knuckle and a bruised legacy, sweeping up shards that used to be dishware, he has never in his life felt more miserable, or more exactly like the man he swears he isn't.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Organization ink made visible. The Black Yakuza Sleeves fighters belong to something — a code, a history — and they advertise their membership without speaking.
He exists in Fat Bob's extended universe — related, distinct, and absolutely exhausted by the comparison. Same build, same laugh, different problems. Do not, he begs you, get them confused.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
In motion even when still. The Wavy fighters are always already moving — the hair is just the most visible evidence.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
