Diary
Igor The Bear once carried the stillness of a mountain temple in his chest, but the Meiji Jungle ground that stillness down until his thoughts sat in his skull like boulders nobody asked to move. He tried to arrange them the old samurai way, one clean row at a time, and instead ended up rugged by his own brain, floor gone, every plan he aped into collapsing before it started. Now he sits heavy and slow at the edge of the jungle, deciding, with the patience of glacier, to teach degens the discipline he himself can no longer summon on command. It is a joke everyone sees coming, this mountain lecturing pebbles about balance, but there is a warmth under the mass of him that makes the young degenerates lean in anyway. He starts the lesson late, forgets the point halfway through, and somehow still finishes it, because once Igor gets moving, even confusion cannot make him stop.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
After the rice was used. The Rice Sack Rags fighters wear what remains after everything useful has been extracted — and find it sufficient.
Built like a landslide — weight, physical and otherwise, the kind that can't be lifted, only rolled. In the wars you pointed him at a problem; now the stillness is the problem.
Paper screen optics. The Shoji Glasses fighters see the world through traditional frames — and find that the tradition holds.
Not born with them. Became them. The Grey Oni Horns fighters grew their nature slowly until it became structural.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
