Diary
Igor The Bear once held a stance so still the wind gave up trying to move him, but that was before the Dojo's back room and its jar of grass turned his famous patience into a slow-motion liability. He stared at the bud for what he swears was one contemplative breath, though the others clock it closer to forty minutes, and when he finally opened his mouth the words that rolled out were loud, rash, and aimed at the wrong senpai. Now he sits cross-legged on the mats each morning, trying to rebuild the discipline he shed like a winter coat, promising himself he will meditate before he speaks and not the other way around. The vow lasts about as long as his stillness usually does, which is to say forever, until someone lights up again and momentum drags him back down. Igor calls it recovery; the Dojo calls it Tuesday, and either way the bear keeps sitting, heavy and patient, waiting for his own mouth to finally learn the weight he carries everywhere else.
Sober, unlike the drunk variant. The Lizard fighters have a companion with excellent judgment who never asks for anything and always seems to know when to leave.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
Built like a landslide — weight, physical and otherwise, the kind that can't be lifted, only rolled. In the wars you pointed him at a problem; now the stillness is the problem.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Time made visible, flowing. Flowing Dreads fighters carry their history in motion — every lock a year, and the years are moving now.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
