Igor doesn't tell the story often, and when he does, the room goes quiet the way it does before a blade clears its sheath. Nagoya, a noodle stand steaming under a dead sign, and a pig staring at him like it already knew how the wars would end. He'd been aped into three different guard rotations that decade, floor traders and daimyo alike rugging every promise made to him, but the pig never lied, never once. Some nights he still dreams of the pen, the shovel, the honest weight of waste that meant something got fed and something got cleaned, a discipline so simple even a veteran couldn't ruin it. He tries to hold that same order now, one drink, one hand of cards, one calm breath, and loses every time, but the pig, wherever it rooted off to, never has to watch him fail at it.
Whose bones? The fighter who wears them knows. They're not saying. The Finger Bones fighters operate on a level of commitment that most find uncomfortable.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
Carried more than worn. The Pocket Glasses fighters have perfect vision when they choose to apply it — the rest of the time, they let instinct run.
Practical. Focused. The Hair Bun fighters pulled back what was in their eyes so they could see the whole board.
Fermented projectile. The Beer Splash fighters found the most abundant thing in the Dojo and weaponized it.
