Igor was calm once, the kind of calm that used to end wars before they started, until he tripped over a woven offering basket outside the local shrine and the gods, apparently, laughed. He does not talk about the fall. He does not talk about much. Now he says he will teach discipline to the degens, the way an old blade teaches a new hand, though most days he just sits on the dojo steps nursing a warm can and watching the fools trip over the same basket he never moved. The room goes quiet when he speaks, mostly because nobody wants to ask why the lesson always ends with him buying another round instead of throwing a punch.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Every frequency visible. The Rainbow Kimono fighters contain multitudes and decided to wear them all at once rather than choose.
The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
