Diary
Junichiro once carried himself like the shogun-in-waiting he believed he was, spine straight as a katana, every gesture measured to the millimeter, every rival quietly graded and found wanting. Then came the fateful wasabi challenge atop Dojo Towers, a contest he entered the way he entered everything, certain of victory, certain his discipline could outlast mere condiment, and he ate spoonful after green fiery spoonful while lesser men wept and folded around him. He did not fold. He simply broke, some vital wiring in his proud skull rerouted forever, and he has walked the halls since as a diminished thing, muttering scores under his breath at strangers who never asked to be judged. Now he wakes at dawn vowing discipline, a rigid schedule of training and silence and clean living, and by noon he is aped into some dubious token a junior fighter shilled him between bong rips, scoring himself a humiliating two out of ten and telling no one. Somewhere beneath the wreckage the first son still stands at attention, waiting for an order he gave himself and can no longer remember how to obey.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wore everything out. The Dirty Peasant Rags fighters have been in the Dojo so long that newness has become impossible — everything they own carries the evidence.
'Junichiro' — pure first son, the standard the others are measured against, usually by Junichiro himself. Flawless form, cleanest blade, a line that held because he'd sooner die than break it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Heavy. Absolute. The Black Iron Kabuto fighters chose protection over style and discovered that in the Dojo, this IS style.
Found. Not forged. The Large Branch fighters don't wait for the right weapon — they use what's available and are surprised when this needs explanation.
