Diary
They say Junichiro Reborn died once, quietly, in a snowbank outside a Yoshiwara teahouse, and whoever crawled out the next morning only borrowed his name. That night he had stood beneath a courtesan's shuttered window singing verses that were, by any honest account, terrible, while the cold did surgical work on his judgment and his fingers alike. He woke inside some ink-slinger's stall with no memory of walking there, three new tattoos blooming across his ribs like frostbite in reverse, none of them spelling anything he would ever admit to translating. He tells people now it was a rebirth, calm as a man discussing the weather, and maybe that is true, since the old Junichiro would have died of shame alone. The new one just rolls a joint, traces the crooked kanji with one finger, and promises himself, again, that tomorrow he starts training seriously, right after this next verse.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The red Oni rages where the blue Oni waits. The Red Oni Tattoo fighters run hot and they are at peace with this.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Demon woman, half revealed. The Hannya Half Mask fighters show the monstrous half and keep the human half private.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
