Diary
They say Junichiro Reborn died once already, so the seppuku he keeps scheduling reads less like a threat and more like a man rescheduling a dentist appointment he's already missed twice. At the main Buddhist temple, beneath incense smoke thick enough to roll into a blunt, he sold out his own family for a pig he swears looked at him with more loyalty than any clan elder ever did, and honestly, the pig hasn't been wrong yet. He tells the monks he is ready to kneel, blade drawn, honor restored, right after one more sake, one more scratch behind the pig's ear, one more night of pretending discipline is a river he can wade back into instead of a current that drowned the old him years ago. The old Junichiro would have opened his belly at dawn without blinking; this one keeps finding dawns worth sleeping through. Reborn men, it turns out, still have to relearn how to die properly, and he is failing that lesson beautifully, calmly, with a pig curled at his feet like the only witness his myth actually deserves.
Collected. Not borrowed. The Foes Teeth fighters carry proof of every fight they've won around their neck and find it a useful conversation starter.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Half the statement. The Skull Sleeve fighters communicate their philosophy in one arm — the other arm is for whatever needs doing next.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Still wearing them. The Bloodied Glasses fighters need nothing to be clean to keep seeing clearly.
On fire, stable. The Burning Basket fighters operate in conditions most find impossible and have stopped noticing the fire.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
