Diary
They say Junichiro died once already, and whatever came back wears his face with a strange, patient smile, like a man reading his own obituary and finding it flattering. The night he lost the nipple, he was three cups of shochu deep and convinced the universe owed him a redemption arc, so he went looking for an old woman to help across a street that, as far as anyone could tell, she was not trying to cross. Somewhere between the good deed and the alley cat that ambushed him from a trash pile, steel or claw or fate itself took a piece of him clean off, and he laughed through the blood because of course the universe would charge admission for virtue. He has vowed, in his eerie half-smiling way, to be a better man now, to meditate at dawn and stop aping into whatever chaos the night offers, and he even lasted four whole days before someone mentioned a dice game and his discipline evaporated like morning mist off a dojo roof. Still he tells the story like scripture, one nipple lighter and infinitely more amused, insisting that enlightenment probably costs a little skin and he simply paid early.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The dragon lives on the body now. The Dragon Head Tattoo fighters carry their ambition on the surface — it's not hidden, and it's not a metaphor.
He walked into something that should have ended him and walked back out with the same name and none of the same conditions. Nobody agrees what happened out there, and he's in no hurry to explain.
Traditional, ornamented. The Shoji Tassel Glasses fighters dress their perception in ceremony — seeing is a ritual for them, not a reflex.
Broad shade, broad vision. The Wide Kasa Fisherman fighters cover more ground with their hat than most cover with their plans.
Musical instrument. Strung instrument. The Shamisen fighters understand that performance and violence are not opposites — they are the same act in different registers.
