Junichiro was raised to measure things, the angle of a bow, the weight of a word, the precise inch by which a first son must outperform every lesser son in the room, and so when he impersonated his superior on a crowded street in a moment of reckless, unbecoming theater, he did not simply err, he shattered the ledger by which he judged the entire world. The crowd laughed, someone clipped it, and now the tainted man lives forever in low-resolution infamy, a rug pull on his own bloodline that no amount of apology or seppuku-adjacent self-flagellation has managed to unwind. He still holds himself to the old numbers though, counting his push-ups in sets of exactly one hundred, folding his gi with corners sharp enough to cut glass, scoring his own shame on a scale from disgraceful to unforgivable and never once landing lower than the latter. At night he tells himself discipline is a floor price he refuses to let drop, then loses that fight anyway to a blunt, a bottle, and the same crowded street playing on loop behind his eyes. Somewhere beneath the perfect posture and the exacting stare, Junichiro is still just a son grading his own failure against a father who is not there to see the effort, and finding it, as always, insufficient.
