One-Eyed Itsuki built his name the old way, standing in the grey mists outside Kyoto arguing points of honor with samurai who still had two eyes and twice his patience, and he won more debates than he lost because half a view, sharpened right, cuts cleaner than a whole one gone soft. That reputation carried him for years, a rock nobody could roll, until the wars dried up and the mist thinned into something less poetic, more like a hangover that never fully lifts. Now he wanders the district a broken man in the loosest sense, still steady on his feet, still dropping one-liners that land like a blade, but his floor price as a fighter has been rugged by one too many mornings starting with warm sake instead of cold water and a blade drawn in silence. He tells himself discipline is a rope he can climb back up any day he chooses, yet every day he chooses the weed instead, packing another bowl and calling it meditation because the smoke curls the same way the old mist did. Ask him if he regrets it and he'll shrug with the eye he's got left, half-focused, fully unbothered, and say the mist never lied to him, only the world after it did.
Heavier than gold. Less prestigious. More honest. The Iron Earring fighters chose function over signal and consider that to be the signal.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.

The name is the lore. The Poop Pride Kimono fighters have transcended embarrassment so completely that they wear the proof. Undefeated.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Authority through opacity. The Dark Spectacles fighters reveal nothing through their eyes and receive everything through them.
