Diary
Before the mountain took his eye, Itsuki was the kind of swordsman who bragged twice as loud as he fought, a cocky blade with a mouth to match, until Misty Mountain taught him humility the old-fashioned way and left him carving weapons out of wood because steel felt like tempting fate twice. He tells people the mist stole his depth perception; he does not mention it also stole his patience for anything that requires two working eyes and zero excuses. These days he walks with the calm of a man who has already lost the thing he was most afraid of losing, which frees him up to lose everything else with style, mostly his discipline, usually to a dice game he swears he is only watching. He still whittles at dawn, one careful stroke at a time, vowing this will be the morning he finishes a blade instead of a bar tab, and most mornings the wood wins. Half his world comes in twice as sharp now, he says, which is more than can be said for his self control, but a broken man who can still land a one-liner has not broken all the way through.”
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Armor assembled from tradition. The Tatami Tosei Gusoku fighters are protected by history — centuries of craft wrapped around the present moment.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Practical and armed. The Hair Bun With Chopsticks fighters put utensils in their hair and call it hair care — the dual function is not accidental.
