One-Eyed Itsuki cleared the Fight Pits of three ronin before the dust even settled on his sandals, and instead of bowing out quiet like the old codes taught him, he ran his mouth like it was minting free tokens. Half his sight left him years ago in a border skirmish nobody remembers the name of, but what remains cuts cleaner than most men's full view, so he saw exactly how that boast landed and exactly how hard the room turned on him after. Now he sits behind the dojo with a joint gone cold between his fingers, doing the breathing drills his old sensei drilled into him, promising himself this is the week discipline finally sticks. It never quite does, one puff turns into the whole thing, one calm minute turns into him narrating the kill count to whoever's still listening, but he shrugs it off with that flat half grin of his. A man who sees half the world twice as clearly still has to relearn, slowly, that silence was always the sharper blade.
Simple. Carved. Someone made this by hand. The Wooden Loop fighters wear something made, not bought, and consider that a statement worth making.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Still learning. The Student Gi fighters are the most dangerous in the Dojo — they have no habits yet, no fixed patterns, no ceiling.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
The disguise is the identity. The Degen Superhero glasses fighters have a secret — or maybe the secret is that there's no secret and they've always been exactly this.
Elevated tradition. The High Straw Rice Hat fighters dress high above their own heads — everything they do is reaching upward.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
