One-Eyed Itsuki used to say a man with one good eye sees half the world twice as clearly, and for years that half was enough to keep his footwork clean and his katana cleaner. Then came Okonawa, a market basket nobody bothered to move, and a fall so undignified that the wars he'd survived felt easier than that pavement. He tells it now like a koan: the samurai who dodged spears got rugged by produce, floor price of his dignity down to zero, liquidity gone. These days he meditates every morning, swears off the sake by noon, and by dusk he's three cups deep explaining to the bartender that discipline is a journey, not a destination, especially when the destination has baskets in it. Half his vision, twice the wisdom, still zero balance for weed math or grudges, and that, he'll tell you with a dry little smile, is basically enlightenment.
Heavier than gold. Less prestigious. More honest. The Iron Earring fighters chose function over signal and consider that to be the signal.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Wealth made garment. The Money Kimono fighters wear their wins literally — the fabric is a record, not a boast.
'Itsuki' — a tree, deep roots and one straight trunk. He lost the eye in a story he tells four different ways depending on how much he likes you, and what's left sees more than most manage with two.
