One-Eyed Itsuki never needed two eyes to know when a mounted samurai was talking nonsense, and that afternoon the horseman got both barrels of his one good glare before the shouting even started. Half his sight left him on some forgotten battlefield years ago, but what remains sees straight through posturing, empty threats, and the particular arrogance of a man who thinks a saddle makes him righteous. The argument turned loud, then physical, then embarrassing in the way only a grown man tugging on a horse's bridle can be, and Itsuki walked away muttering that he'd meditate on his temper just as soon as his temper let him. He tells himself discipline is a rope he's still holding, even as it slips through his fingers one heated word at a time. Steady as a rock, he says of himself, conveniently forgetting that rocks don't start fights with cavalry.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for the journey, not the destination. The Recovering Alcoholic fighters are in process — and process is honest in a way that arrival never is.
