Diary
Raikou had gone to the noodle house at Kiyomizu chasing broth and enlightenment in roughly that order, and somewhere between bowl three and bowl seven he passed out among a huddle of priests who mistook his stillness for meditation. He woke with his robes shed entirely, folded neatly beside him like an NFT he'd already flipped, and a shaved-head monk staring down like he'd just watched the floor get rugged. Raikou, unbothered, called it a sign, blinked slow, and said the universe had airdropped him clarity along with a draft, so now he meditates daily, sword resting across his knees like a paperweight on unfinished business. He still can't sit still past four minutes before his knee starts bouncing and his hand drifts toward the pouch he swears he packed for spiritual purposes only, discipline arriving in flashes of lightning between long lazy fogs of nothing. He tells anyone who'll listen that Buddha and bud are basically the same enlightenment, just different vintages, then dozes off mid-sentence still smiling like he already won the fight nobody's started yet.
Worn deliberately. The Nails fighters made choices with their appearance that most would call unconventional and they would call honest.
Neither dark nor white. The Light Grey background belongs to fighters who operate in the space between certainties and have made it comfortable there.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The Dojo itself, worn. Whoever puts on the Degen Dojo Kimono becomes part of the institution — and the institution becomes part of them.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
The world through affection. The Loveheart Shades fighters see everything as worth caring about — and have found this is more effective than the alternative.
The Dojo's samurai. The Dejen Samurai fighters carry the warrior tradition through the collection's own lens — ancient code, contemporary context.
Organization-issue. The Yakuza Club fighters have backup in the weight of the weapon itself — it carries institutional authority.
