Diary
Raikou The Stoner sat cross-legged on the tideline, passing a joint to Raiku like it was some ancient tea ceremony, watching gulls trace mandalas in the sky, utterly at peace. Then the degens rolled in, a whole floor-price crew smelling opportunity, ringing him and Raiku in a circle of hoodies and bad vibes, and for one slow breath the old samurai reflex flickered, shoulders squaring, eyes narrowing like he remembered what a stance was. He let it pass through him instead, exhaled, offered the crew a hit, and somehow that was the move that actually diffused it, chaos absorbed into smoke. Walking home afterward he told Raiku he was done chasing lower vibrations, he wanted green juice, sunrise stretches, a whole ascended era, the healthy pleasures. By the next morning he was face down in a bag of gas station chips, half a bowl still smoldering beside him, whispering that discipline was a spectrum and he was simply exploring its farthest, comfiest edge.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Left the order. Didn't stop fighting. The Dejen Apostate fighters broke from whatever school trained them and found that the training stayed anyway.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Tied before the fight. The Green Bandana fighters have a ritual of preparation — the bandana is how they mark the transition.
Used and not cleaned. The Bloody Nunchucks fighters are efficient — cleaning was someone else's job and they had the next fight to prepare for.
