Raikou used to run drills at dawn like a proper samurai, katana whistling, mind still as a temple pond, but that was a past life he mostly remembers through a haze of resin and regret. The night Fred's snake sank its fangs into his ankle in his own family's living room, Raikou didn't scream, he just exhaled slow like he'd been expecting it since the Sengoku era, eyes half lidded, already vibing with the venom. These days he swears he's getting back his discipline, morning meditation, no more three bowls before breakfast, yet somehow he's still on the porch at noon, blazed, telling that same snake story to anyone who'll listen, wisdom slurred, sword gathering dust beside the bong.
