Diary
In the grey mists above Kyoto, where the old dojo masters used to meditate on wind and blade, Raikou instead meditated on leverage, telling his boyhood friend either pay up or the whole village hears about that thing at the shrine. It worked, the yen came, and Raikou aped every last coin into a tattoo parlor run by a guy who learned ink from a fortune cookie factory. Now he sits cross legged on the floor of his own miserable regret, blunt hanging like a wilted lotus, staring at a dragon on his forearm that looks like a confused noodle, and a koi fish that resembles his own crushed spirit swimming upstream toward nothing. He tells anyone who'll listen that the tattoos are a metaphor, that pain builds character, that this is basically enlightenment if you squint, but the discipline he lost somewhere between the war and the weed still whispers that a real samurai earns his ink, not blackmails for it. So he inhales slow, exhales lightning fast regret, and mutters,
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Memento mori made fashionable. The Skull Kimono fighters remember what's at stake and wear the reminder so they never forget.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
The Dojo's samurai. The Dejen Samurai fighters carry the warrior tradition through the collection's own lens — ancient code, contemporary context.
The ninja's tool. Small, fast, plural. The Kunai fighters think in multiples — one is never the plan.
