In the Dojo gardens, Raikou used to run the sweetest little rug pull on the poor monks tending the koi ponds, sliding their coin purses out from under prayer beads slower than a bong rip, faster than a lightning strike when it counted. Karma, as it turns out, floors everyone eventually, and one furious pilgrim clawed him straight across the chest, leaving both nipples bleeding like some cursed NFT mint gone wrong. Raikou just sat there in the dirt, blood soaking his gi, and had what he calls his 'rug realization,' staring at the koi like they held the secrets of the DAO. He shaved his head that same week, swore off the eight-fold path of theft, and dedicated his life to Buddhism, chanting sutras between coughs of the good stuff he swears is 'sacred incense.' Discipline still eludes him completely, he meditates for four seconds then aped straight into a nap, but damn if his half-lidded eyes don't look enlightened doing it.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Insect mastery. The Kung Fu Beetle fighters move in patterns that look inefficient until they aren't. The beetle is not decorative.
