Diary
Up on Mount Haku, wind screaming like a liquidated position, Raikou The Stoner stood across from Oleg and just... started taking his clothes off, slow as a candle on a four hour chart. He wasn't cold, he wasn't confused, he was just vibing with the universe, letting his gi fall like a bag he'd finally decided to sell at the top. Somewhere in his hazy monk brain he remembered he used to be disciplined, katas at dawn, sake only on festival days, but that guy got rugged by his own vices sometime around the third bong rip of enlightenment. He tried, right there naked on the summit, to summon some old bushido stillness, some floor of inner peace, but it dumped instantly the second Oleg raised an eyebrow. Raikou just sighed, picked his robe back up, and decided the real lesson of Haku wasn't discipline at all, it was that he needed better quality friends who wouldn't just stand there watching a man communicate with the mountain gods in his birthday suit.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Armor assembled from tradition. The Tatami Tosei Gusoku fighters are protected by history — centuries of craft wrapped around the present moment.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
