Yuji The Wise kept a ledger of his own disgraces the way other men keep a war record, and the entry for the Dojo gardens remained, by his own admission, the most thoroughly footnoted humiliation in the whole scroll. He had gone there at dusk meaning only to meditate beside the priests, to borrow a sliver of their calm like a man aping a blue chip he could not afford, and instead he fell asleep mid koan, snoring through what the elders later called a profound spiritual presence. Favor was granted, incense was burned in his name, and Yuji has spent every waking hour since trying to explain, mostly to himself, that unconsciousness is not enlightenment even if it photographs the same. He still narrates the incident aloud sometimes, editing it kinder with each retelling, a chronicler revising his own rug pull into scripture. Discipline, he notes with weary scholarly humor, was the one thing he meant to cultivate in that garden, and instead he cultivated a nap and a legend he cannot live down.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
War color, formal cut. The Red Warrior Kimono fighters dressed for the battle they expected and arrived at the one they got.
A fighter first and a thinker second — until the day he laughed with Haru in the streets and simply set the sword down for good. He calls it wisdom; some call it losing his nerve.

Heavy. Absolute. The Black Iron Kabuto fighters chose protection over style and discovered that in the Dojo, this IS style.
