Assassin Fuzen once carried himself like a signed contract, cold, certain, unbreakable, the kind of blade you didn't need to draw twice. Then came the loose nights at the Dojo, sake-warm confessions passed around like a joint nobody remembers lighting, secrets he traded for laughs he can no longer recall the punchline to. Somewhere between bragging about a floor he swore he'd never sell and whispering names better left sheathed, the calm cracked, and what walked out wasn't a swordsman anymore but a rumor with a twitch. He still meditates every morning, still counts his breaths like unpaid debts, but discipline keeps rugging him the moment temptation waves a drink or a dare. Ask him if the old Fuzen is coming back and he'll just smile that patient, unfinished smile, the one that says the contract's still open, terms pending, delivery date unknown.
