Diary
Fuzen once served with a silence so complete that enemies mistook it for mercy, but these days the only contracts he closes are bar tabs in the red light district. He sat across from Igor with his ledger of debts unpaid and his patience worn thin as rice paper, and when the dice finally turned against him, he didn't blink, didn't flinch, just watched his topknot go to the table like a severed alliance. The other patrons laughed, not knowing that a man like Fuzen remembers every face that laughs at him, files it away, unfinished business for an unnamed later. He tells himself he'll quit the tables, tells himself tonight was the last night, the same quiet lie he's rugged himself with a hundred times before. Some evenings, scalp cold under the lantern light, he thinks fondly of his old temple days shoveling manure in the stable yards, simple work, honest filth, no Igor, no dice, no debts that never close.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Sovereignty in fabric form. The Queeny Chic fighters dress with authority that was never granted by anyone else and therefore can't be revoked.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Wild, electrified. The Zapachi fighters' hair moves independently and the fighter has accepted that this is appropriate.
Patience as weapon. The Noose fighters don't rush — they set the conditions and wait for the opponent to walk into them.
