Diary
Before the onsen, Fuzen was nobody in particular, a blade for hire with no ledger and no name worth remembering. Then The Old Dragon settled into the water beside him, said perhaps eleven words total, and Fuzen walked out a contract that never closes, a debt collector for causes he can no longer name. He tells himself discipline is a muscle, so every dawn he sets an alarm for meditation and every dawn he snoozes it into a nap that somehow lasts until the noodle stall opens. The vice never fully left, it just filed for an extension, gambling on cockfights he swears are training exercises in patience and reading intent. Ask him what The Old Dragon actually said and he goes quiet, sharpens something that does not need sharpening, and lets you sit in the silence like it's still collecting interest.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
After the rice was used. The Rice Sack Rags fighters wear what remains after everything useful has been extracted — and find it sufficient.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Ancient discipline, modern retention. The Braided Samurai Ponytail fighters maintain something traditional precisely because the world keeps trying to make them let it go.
The floor weapon. Everywhere. Common because common is honest — the Rusty Nail fighters know that what you find is often better than what you planned.
