Now he squats in the garden behind the dojo, cultivating a bad habit that smells like regret and burns like a debt collector's patience, when an unseen hand decided his personal space was public property. He did not flinch, did not blink, only marked the moment the way he marks every insult: filed, dated, awaiting settlement. Seven nights later he still hasn't slept, eyes fixed on the koi pond like it owes him money, replaying the grope in slow motion, cataloguing suspects with the diligence of a man who used to kill for less. The discipline that once let him wait years for a single kill now can't manage eight hours of rest, and somewhere in that irony he finds the closest thing to peace he's had all week.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Paper screens at night. The Shoji Night fighters were born in the quiet hours, when the market sleeps and only the committed are still at their screens.
