Diary
Fuzen never signed anything, not on paper, not in blood, and yet every street in the district still owes him something it hasn't paid. The legend started as a dream, glory dressed up in neon and back alley smoke, and he woke up one morning simply already famous, the way a debt collects interest while you sleep. Once he was the kind of samurai who finished what he started before the incense burned out; now he opens a bag of edibles at noon telling himself it's just until the job comes through, and the job never quite comes through. He lives one day at a time because the ledger in his head refuses to close, each sunrise another line item marked pending, another vow to meditate at dawn that dies quietly around his third bong rip. Patience, he figures, is just menace that hasn't cashed out yet, and he's content to let the whole city wait on him the way he waits on himself.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Royalty that refused the crown. The Purple Night backgrounds belong to fighters who could have been somewhere easier and chose not to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Named for something specific. The Cet Kimono fighters know what they're wearing and why — the rest is for others to figure out.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Crow spirit, long nose, ancient power. The Tengu Mask fighters are wearing something that predates the Dojo — something older that chose to be here.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
