Diary
Seven nights unslept and counting, Assassin Fuzen stood inside the Dojo peeling off his robes one deliberate layer at a time, like a man closing out a position nobody asked him to open. The old samurai across from him kept barking about honor, about form, about the sacred stillness of a blade held with intention, and Fuzen just nodded along, patient as an unpaid invoice, letting the silk fall to the floor between insults. He used to sleep like the dead after a clean kill, disciplined as a monk, but these days his contract with rest never closes, every night rugged by another bowl of weed and the itch of unfinished business humming under his skin. Naked to the waist now, calm as a man who has already priced in his own ruin, he told the samurai that discipline was just a floor everyone eventually breaks through on the way down. Then he sat, cross-legged, bare, exhausted, and kept arguing anyway, because some fights you finish out of principle, not sleep.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Sovereignty in fabric form. The Queeny Chic fighters dress with authority that was never granted by anyone else and therefore can't be revoked.
'Fuzen' means incompleteness, a joke at his own expense before it was a name. The blade sent for the jobs that had to be certain — left with one last name on his list when the wars ended.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Crow spirit, long nose, ancient power. The Tengu Mask fighters are wearing something that predates the Dojo — something older that chose to be here.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
