Igor climbed Mount Fuji the way he did everything, silent, methodical, like the mountain owed him nothing and he'd take nothing extra. He met Masumi near the summit shrine and they talked for hours about things Igor won't repeat, the wind cutting through his gi the whole time, chafing him raw in a way he only noticed later. By the time he got back down, his nipples were bleeding through the fabric, two dark coins soaked into the cloth, and he just nodded at it like a man reviewing a bar tab. He tried telling himself discipline means ignoring pain, that a real veteran doesn't flinch, but he still bought a bag of weed at the base of the mountain to take the edge off. Someone asked if he was alright and Igor said nothing, because he's never felt better, and the room, as always, went quiet around him.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Military patience. The Olive Green fighters do not announce themselves. They wait. Then they move.

The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
