Igor does not tell the story. Ask twice and the room goes quiet the way it does before rain, and somebody else finishes it for him: the izakaya reeking of shochu and old smoke, Igor mid-rant at a table of women who wanted nothing to do with him, and somehow, between the shouting, three coins turning up in his palm like they'd been waiting for the noise to stop. He swears he does not remember the words he used. He remembers the coins, and that's the part he keeps. Every morning since, he sets a jug of water by his bed instead of the bottle, tells himself tonight is the night discipline comes back for him, and every night it doesn't, and he shrugs like a man who's made peace with losing the same fight on a loop. The old samurai in him salutes the effort. The degen in him orders another round and calls it research.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Lived-in color. The Warm Grey background belongs to fighters who have been through enough that their edges have softened without their core changing.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
No fixed allegiance. The Mercenary fighters fight for whoever offers the right terms and have never lost a battle when those terms were met.
The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
The world through affection. The Loveheart Shades fighters see everything as worth caring about — and have found this is more effective than the alternative.
The Dojo's samurai. The Dejen Samurai fighters carry the warrior tradition through the collection's own lens — ancient code, contemporary context.
Repurposed. Made for the earth, used for the fight. The Farmers Hoe fighters don't distinguish between cultivation and combat.
