Diary
Igor does not talk about the dojo that cast him out, and no one asks twice. The short version, the only version he allows, is this: a bad night, a bad gut, a ruined futon, and a council of old men who decided dishonor deserved a blade lower than the neck. He walks different now, sits different, says less than he used to, which was already not much. Discipline was supposed to be the thing he had left when the sword was gone, but these days he pours it straight into cheap sake and calls that his training regimen. Ask him if he regrets it and he'll just look at you, order another round, and let the silence do the explaining.'
Decorative. Traditional. The Tassel fighters know that ornament and function are not opposites — presentation is part of performance.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Maximum exposure by choice. The Nudey Freak fighters are not unclothed by accident — they made a considered decision and stand by it in all weather.
The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
Carried more than worn. The Pocket Glasses fighters have perfect vision when they choose to apply it — the rest of the time, they let instinct run.
Movement made permanent. The Long Flowing fighters trail behind themselves in every room they enter — the hair arrives first, then the fighter.
The other fish weapon. The Dead Fish fighters use something that smells like loss as a weapon — opponents are too confused to defend properly.
