Igor The Veteran does not raise his voice about it, does not need to. Out in the rice paddies he sat across from BBQ Ben and ate what was put in front of him, and now his nipples bleed through the gi like some cursed stigmata of brisket and bad decisions. Nobody asks him to explain the ritual; the room just quiets when he mentions it, the way it quiets whenever a man who once knew real discipline admits he traded it for sauce-slicked ribs and a folding table in the mud. He has announced, flat as a blade, that seppuku is the only honorable exit from this humiliation, though everyone suspects he will instead nurse the wounds with rice wine and call it meditation. The old Igor would have starved before dishonoring his body like this; this Igor just asks for another napkin and a longer sleeve.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
