Diary
They call him The Veteran and nobody asks why twice, because Igor answers with silence and silence is the whole story. Once he held a blade steady through storms that broke other men; now his hands shake reaching for a lighter instead of a sword. The lair was thick with shaman's smoke and Ikari's low chant when something in Igor's gut finally rugged him, right there mid-sentence, mid-legend. He does not speak of what happened, only that the incense still smells like shame and that discipline left his body the same day something else did. Every dojo morning he vows to meditate, to fast, to sit still like the old days, and every dojo morning he ends up aped on lager by noon, staring at the floor like it owes him an apology it will never give.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Left the order. Didn't stop fighting. The Dejen Apostate fighters broke from whatever school trained them and found that the training stayed anyway.
The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
Named for the legendary swordsman. The Flowing Battousai fighters carry the name of the fastest draw in the collection's lore — and the hair confirms they take this seriously.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
