Diary
Igor doesn't tell the story so much as let it exist in the room, the way smoke sits in a low-ceilinged bar in Kyoto long after the fire's out. He staked the last of his savings on a bad hand in the back room of a whorehouse near the old post road, the kind of place that eats ronin whole, and the house didn't just take his coin. He walks different now, talks less, but something in his eye says the cut didn't teach him what it was supposed to. Discipline was the plan afterward, sunrise drills, a strict ledger, no more floors chased with borrowed chips, and he held that line for exactly four days before he was back at a table somewhere aped into a game he had no business playing. The room quiets when Igor talks because everyone's waiting to hear if he's finally learned his lesson, and everyone already knows the answer is no.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Bright but not loud. The Teal Daytime fighters are the ones you underestimate because they don't announce their arrival.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
The red Oni rages where the blue Oni waits. The Red Oni Tattoo fighters run hot and they are at peace with this.
The other Igor — the lean one, who earned the word Veteran inside the dojo rather than bringing it with him. He's never explained what it refers to, and nobody's asked twice.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Broad shade, broad vision. The Wide Kasa Fisherman fighters cover more ground with their hat than most cover with their plans.
Not metaphorical. Someone's leg bone, spiked. The Spiky Femur fighters have been here long enough that the bones of their enemies are now equipment.
