Diary
Lovey Haruto once ruled his clan the way a good host runs a tea ceremony, disarming rivals with warmth before a blade was ever needed, until the night he let ambition wear the mask of tenderness and tried to bed the mamasan in his own futon under his own roof. The betrayal barely registers in the history of the underworld, but in his own ledger it is a debt that compounds daily, a crack that lets the old ronin ache leak into every gentle thing he now does. He tries to rebuild himself one kindness at a time, buying rounds for degens who just got rugged on some floor that fell out from under them, folding his blanket monk-tight each morning like the samurai he used to be. By noon that same blanket is a nest of weed smoke and unopened liquidation notices, his tidy discipline dissolving into naps, apologies he never quite finishes, and a softness he refuses to aim at himself. Somewhere between the koan he mutters before sparring and the forgiveness he still can't fully claim, Lovey keeps swinging kindness like a sword, hoping it eventually cuts through his own reflection.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Between midday and dusk. The Orange Afternoon fighters are in the middle of something — not finished, not starting, exactly where they need to be.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Not a garment — a record. The Battle Scars clothing is what's left after everything else was stripped away. These fighters wear their history.
'Haruto' — warm person. He fights with something that looks like kindness, until you realize kindness done right is the hardest discipline of all, and he never stops choosing it.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Broad shade, broad vision. The Wide Kasa Fisherman fighters cover more ground with their hat than most cover with their plans.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
