Before the incense and the begging bowl, Lovey Haruto ran his crew like a tea ceremony gone feral, all bows and threats poured from the same porcelain smile. Legend says the whole empire cracked the day he rode past Itsuki on a borrowed horse and howled some joke about his haircut loud enough to echo off the dojo walls, laughing so hard he nearly slid off the saddle and into a very undignified enlightenment. Something about that fall knocked the cruelty loose in him, and he traded silk robes for saffron ones, swearing off vice to chase the old bushido stillness he'd buried under blood money. Now he presses his palms together before every brawl, whispers a metta prayer for his opponent's spirit, then still somehow ends up trash talking them between verses because four decades of gangster muscle memory doesn't unclench on schedule. He calls it compassionate combat, the crowd calls it hilarious, and Itsuki, wherever he is, probably still owes him a rematch on horseback.
