Diary
Goro went to the shrine at Kyoto because someone told him grief needed a proper roof over its head, and he brought mushrooms because he figured the gods wouldn't mind a little company. Three hours in, he was weeping at a stone lantern he'd convinced himself was his old captain, apologizing for outliving everyone the wars took, laughing wet ugly laughs between each sorry like his face couldn't decide which feeling got custody. The monks found him hugging a torii gate, swearing he could carry it home on his back so nobody else would have to bear its weight, and that was the exact moment his patience finally packed up and left for good. He swings wide open now, mid sob and mid joke in the same breath, still trying to hold discipline like it's a body he refuses to let hit the ground. The Dojo didn't respect the tantrum, they respected that even wrecked out of his mind on shrooms, Teary Goro was still trying to carry someone.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
The hour when most give up. The Blue Evening fighters are still at their desk, still watching the chart, still holding.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Blade pattern. The Katana Kimono fighters understand that what you wear signals what you expect — and they expect a fight.
He carried a spear through more wars than he can count and outlived nearly every man in his line. He buried brothers by torchlight and never broke — the tears came later, all at once.
The disguise is the identity. The Degen Superhero glasses fighters have a secret — or maybe the secret is that there's no secret and they've always been exactly this.
In motion even when still. The Wavy fighters are always already moving — the hair is just the most visible evidence.
A live chicken. As a weapon. The Chicken fighters have committed to an approach that nobody expected and found that unexpectedness is half the battle.
