Diary
Teary Goro climbed the thousand orange gates at Fushimi like they still owed him something, incense smoke curling around his topknot as he found Edmundo waiting near the fox statues. They talked for hours, old wars and older names, and Goro laughed so hard at one joke that the laugh cracked halfway into a sob, the way it always does now, grief riding shotgun on every good moment. He lit a stick of weed instead of incense out of habit, apologized to the shrine, then did it again anyway, because discipline was a sword he'd pawned years ago and never quite bought back. Somehow the kami didn't seem to mind; favor settled on him warm as sake, and he swore he felt every fallen brother lean in close to listen too. Edmundo called it thrilling. Goro just called it Tuesday, wiped his eyes, and carried the moment home like it was one more body he refused to leave behind.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Unclear until it clears. The Grey Mist backgrounds belong to fighters who operate where others can't see, and use that fog as their advantage.
The foundation. The crowd. The 2,426 who showed up and kept showing up. Degens are what the Dojo is built from — not the rare exceptions, but the persistent presence.
Sovereignty in fabric form. The Queeny Chic fighters dress with authority that was never granted by anyone else and therefore can't be revoked.
He carried a spear through more wars than he can count and outlived nearly every man in his line. He buried brothers by torchlight and never broke — the tears came later, all at once.
Clear eyes. No filter. The unshielded gaze that sees things as they are — not as they're presented or sold.
Named for the legendary swordsman. The Flowing Battousai fighters carry the name of the fastest draw in the collection's lore — and the hair confirms they take this seriously.
Implies infirmity, delivers otherwise. The Wooden Walking Cane fighters move slower than expected and hit harder than prepared for.
