Diary
There was a season when the God Of Lightning behaved badly, real badly, betraying his own kin out in the cold like a man who mistook thunder for wisdom. He drifted after that, slow as smoke curling off a lantern, letting the weed and the losses stack up while he told himself he was just observing the flow of the universe, brother. Now he is writing the Degen Handbook, one deadpan verse at a time, promising it will restore the discipline he traded away, though most chapters trail off into a haze and a half-finished thought about the floor price. He swears the next page will strike like lightning; it mostly just flickers, and he nods at it anyway like it meant to. Balance is coming, he says, exhaling, and everyone pretends to believe the storm has a plan.
No accessory. Maximum presence. The Shirtless Runt fighters decided that bare skin is its own kind of armor — visible, deliberate, impossible to mistake.
Red moon, heightened stakes. The Red High Moon backgrounds mark the moments when everything was on the line and the fighter stayed.
The mythic races at Mint: the Gods, the Devil, the Senseis and the rest at the top of the ladder. Shoji Night's lattice, lit from behind, with a gold stitch around the edge.
'Raikou' — lightning light. He moved slow and easy right up until the instant he didn't, and then it was over. These days he's mostly slow, and swears the smoke helps him think.
Lord's garment worn into battle. The Daimyo Warrior Kimono fighters have authority they didn't ask for and intention they haven't announced.
Storm in the sockets. The Lightning Eyes fighters look at something once and it gets struck — usually the opponent, occasionally the table, rarely their own good sense.
Named for what grew. The Wise Greatness fighters became something across time that couldn't be rushed and didn't try to be.
Beyond the roster. The God-race fighters don't take part in the Dojo — they preside over it. Four exist. Each one is a category unto itself.
Steel that remembers the storm. The Lightning Katana fighters stand among the Gods, and their blades crack before they swing — the thunder arrives a little after the regret.
